Marcia is consultant to the Agha Khan Foundation
and former Director of Pact’s Global
WORTH Initiative for women’s empowerment
– built on a foundation of Appreciative
Planning and Action – that now reaches
almost 200,000 women in Asia and Africa. As
Chief of Party for this 9- time international
award-winning project’s initial Women’s
Empowerment Project (WEP) in Nepal, she oversaw
outreach that engaged over 100,000 women in
6000 groups across 21 Terai Districts, building
on the WORD literacy program that engaged
over 1,000 grass roots NGOs in reaching half-a-million
women; advisor to World Bank and Swedish SIDA
on agriculture, livestock, rural development
programs to stem desertification in southern
Africa.
