Ghananath Ojha
Nepal Advisory Group Coordinator

Ghananath Ojha earned his MA and BL at TU, Nepal. He pursued his Postgraduate studies in Public Administrarion at Victoria University, UK. Furthermore, he received nine months’ management analysis training at Connecticut University, USA. He has extensive experience within the civil service sector. His past roles include: Chief district officer, Asst.Zonal Commissioner, Executive Director, Joint Secretary, and Secretary of the Government of Nepal. Currently, Mr. Ojha is working within the social service sector.
 
 

Dr. Bhima Raj Adhikaree
Professor Bhima Raj Adhikaree is the Registrar of the Tribhuvan University.In his 30 years’ tenure, Dr. Adhikaree served in the key academic positions of the Tribhuvan University in various Campuses. He has a credit of publishing over two dozens of articles and has supervised more than 75 theses for Masters and PhD programs in Economics. He is also associated with several professional associations including China Study Centre.
 
 
Chhing Lamu Sherpa
Chhing Lamu Sherpa possesses participatory management skills, an inspiring leadership quality and an ability to build equitable and safe working environments. She has 27 years of experience working in various institutions, including, government organizations, bio-lateral
organizations, International Non-government Organizations and National Non-government organizations. She has experience at both the National and at the International level as a development implementer, a facilitator, an evaluator, a leader, a manager and a member of civil societies. She is a founding member of Mountain Spirit, TEWA, Imagine Nepal, SAGUN-NEPAN and a member of Chandra Gurung Conservation foundation. For the last five years, Ms. Sherpa has been working as a Program Unit Manager for a Child Centered Community Development organisation, Plan Nepal.

 
 
Keshav Raj Kanel
Received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota- St. Paul, in Natural Resource Economics. He has over thirty years of experience in the fields of resource planning and policy analysis; which includes work in community forestry, forest products marketing; Climate Change; common property management system and institutions etc. He has
contributed to his field by working on the Master Plan for Forestry Sector Projects, the Terai Community Forestry Project, Nepal. He worked as the Chief Coordinator of Foreign Aid under the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, and as a consultant for the USAID,
IFAD, World Bank, FINNIDA, IUCN, FAO, and many other international organizations. He has worked as the Chief of Community Forestry Division, Director General of the Department of Forests, and the Department of Soil Conservation and Watershed Management. He has also worked as the Secretary of the Ministry of Land Reform and Management, Government of Nepal, Kathmandu.
 
 
Lhakpa Sherpa
Lhakpa Sherpa is the President of Mountain Spirit. He received his doctorate in Forest Resources form the University of Washington, USA and specializes in environmental conservation and sustainable development. He also has extensive experience in conserving culture and languages. Dr. Sherpa has worked for the Government of Nepal as protected area planner and manager. He joined The Mountain Institute in 2000 to become an internal expert in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Dr. Sherpa became an enthusiast of AI and participatory methods while working with remote mountain communities of Nepal and Tibet. Currently, he is a Fulbright Post-doctoral Fellow at Yale University, USA.
 
 
Pasang Sherpa
Pasang Sherpa was born in Hangdewa, Taplejung, and is the first Sherpa Lecturer of Sociology in the Department of Sociology Anthropology, Trichandra Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. For the past 12 years he has taught at various colleges of Tribhuvan University, Purbanchal University and Pokhara University.
Mr. Sherpa has carried out various academic and action research projects concentrating mainly on ethnic minorities in different parts of Nepal. He has published articles on caste system, Sherpa culture, Janajati and Dalit issues. He is affiliated to Sherpa Association of Nepal, Sociological anthropological Society of Nepal, Janajati and Dalit Study Centere UNESCO Nepal, University teachers associations and Forum for Intellectuals of Nepal. As a member of High level Task force, Mr Sherpa is currently working to revise the existing list of Indigenous nationalities.

 
 
Dr. Poorna Kanta Adhikary
Dr Adhikary has an interdisciplinary background with Mathematics, and Natural and Social Sciences. He has worked on short and long term assignments with several governments, multi-lateral and bi-lateral agencies and I/NGOs and academic institutions in several countries in North and South Americas, Western Europe, Middle East, South and Eastern Africa, South and South East Asia, and Japan. He is the President of Institute for Conflict Management Peace and Development (ICPD), Kathmandu. He is known to have been associated with a number of civil societies in Nepal including social and political movements. He has provided post-graduate level courses in education, strategic planning and conflict management. He is nationally and internationally known for his professional works as an educationist, peace builder, development thinker and consultant and expert in application of participatory technology.
 
 
Renchin Yonjan
Renchin Yonjan is a Social Architect who has many years of experience working with environmentalists, women, youth and performing artists. Over the years she has succeeded in introducing sporting activities such as rafting, canoeing, hang gliding, hot air ballooning and micro lites in addition to developing the first Nepali pickle brand Navaraas, the first animated music video for children and public space landscaping. She uses the spirit of Appreciative Inquiry to bring social artistry to all aspects of her work.
 
 
Sashin Joshi
Sashin Joshi is currently CEO of NIC Bank, a leading commercial bank in Nepal. He is also the President of Nepal Bankers' Association, Chairman of Nepal Banking Training Institute and Director on the Board of Nepal Clearing House. He has also worked in Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, Melbourne and ANZ Grindlays Bank, Calcutta in the nineties. He started his banking career in 1986 with Nabil Bank, then a subsidiary of Emirates Bank International, and, in 1989, moved to Nepal Grindlays Bank.

He is one of the founding Directors of Rural Micro-finance Development Centre (RMDC). He is currently also an Independent Director nominated by Asian Development Bank on the Board of Kathmandu Water (KUKL) a water utility operator. He holds an MBA in Finance, a Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing and is Credit-Accredited by international banks.
 
 
Shambhu Nath Gautam
Shambhu earned his EMBA from KU, School of Management and his B. Sc. Ag. from TU, Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science. He is a Senior Bank Executive at Siddhartha Bank Limited. He has 25 years of professional experience, furthermore 23 years of his experience has been with various institutions within the Banking sector. He has received professional training on leadership kills/ communication/ managerial skills enhancement, banking, risk management etc., from various national/international organizations.
 
 
Shanta Laxmi Shrestha
Shanta Laxmi Shrestha is an educationist, a human right activist, and an AI practitioner in development and organizational management. She has gained real life education from the people of Nepal, Eritrea, Tanzania and Zambia where she has worked in Schools, Universitys, Government and International Non Government Organizations. Her life has been guided by the principle, ‘Think positively live simply’. Using this principle, she has managed various organizations, including: Redd Barna-Nepal’s Training Section, Lutheran World Federation- Nepal Programme, Lutheran World Federation Eritrea Programme, Local Community Competence Building Programmes in Tanzania and Zambia, World Education Australia Limited’s CBGEEOW programme, and Britain Nepal Medical Trust.
 
 
Sujeev Shakya
Sujeev Shakya is a business executive with a social conscience.. By training he is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Graduate Diploma in International Marketing from Boston University. He was awarded the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship by the US Department of State in 2002. And prior to starting Beed Management (www.beed.com.np), a management consulting and advisory firm he was the President of Tara Management (earlier Soaltee Group Private Limited) and of theBhotekoshi Power Company. He also chairs the Nepal Economic Forum, a not-for-profit private-sector led economic policy centre. He is the author of a bestseller book, Unleashing Nepal Past, Present and Future of Economy; published by Penguin.
 
 
Sumitra Manandhar Gurung
Sumitra Manandhar Gurung is a Nepalese geographer who works as a development consultant and a social development activist. She specializes on social inclusion in Nepal’s development context. She completed her Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii, USA (1988), and was also educated at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok (1982), at the University of Colorado, USA (1979) and at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, where she did her Masters in Geography (1979). Her main interest is the improvement of life for disadvantaged, women, indigenous peoples and minorities, and in empowering these groups with a voice in the development process.
 
 
Tana Gautam
Tana Gautam received his M.Sc. in Natural Resource Planning and Management from Thailand and Master in Public Administration from Nepal. He has served as Secretary to several Ministries of Government of Nepal and is currently working as Chief Officer at National Vigilance Centre. He has been in the service of Government of Nepal since 1984.
